CHIKUSHI JOGAKUEN UNIVERSITY
SUMMER PROGRAM
This summer program at Chikushi Jogakuen University (hereinafter ‘CJU’) is a two-week program that offers two programs of Japanese language and Early Childhood Education in Japan. Students may choose a course from either Japanese Language Course or Early childhood Education Course as per the eligibility. Nevertheless the course, students have opportunities to experience traditional and modern Japanese Culture, such as tea ceremony, wearing yukata dress, Yamagasa festival, etc. There are a lot of opportunities to interact with Japanese students and experience Japanese culture during the program. This summer programs will certainly satisfy students who participate in them.
Japanese Language and Japanese Culture
Eligibility
-Students of our partner universities.
-Students who are highly willing to share their thoughts and ideas with our students and actively participate in this program.
-Students who have studied Hiragana, Katakana and basic expressions (approximately 50 hours of study). *Please study Hiragana, Katakana and Basic Greetings before the program.
Objectives
-Be able to introduce yourself, and understand common expressions with respect to shopping and school life, etc.
-Be able to communicate with people about familiar daily topics.
-Be able to talk about oneself and one’s experiences using simple terms.
Early Childhood Education and Japanese Culture
Eligibility
-Students of our related universities.
-Students who are highly willing to share their thoughts and ideas with our students and actively participate in the Lectures and Nursery and Kindergarten visits of Early Childhood Education, and Japanese culture experience events.
- Japanese-Language Proficiency is not required for this program. Instructions will be provided in both English and Japanese Language in classroom and other events.
Objectives
-Be able to understand the Japanese nursery and kindergarten education setup in Japan.
-Be able to understand the way of dealing with children in the Japanese nursery and kindergarten.
-Be able to understand the essence of curriculum for CJU students majoring in early childhood education.
