Environment

Chikushi Jogakuen University and Junior College are located in Dazaifu City, which is known as a place of interest for its history and historical sites. More than a thousand years ago, Dazaifu was the center of politics and culture in the western half of Japan. Here lived such famous people as Michizane Sugawara, the Deputy Governor of Dazaifu, who is now enshrined in the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine as a God of Learning, and Tabito Ohtomo and Okura Yamanoue who are known as representative Japanese poets of the ancient times. Dazaifu has some historically significant sites related to such ancient samurais as Kiyomori Taira and Takauji Ashikaga.

Extra-curricular Activities

Our university and junior college offer opportunities to challenge a variety of things apart from the regular curriculum. One of them is the extra-curricular activities. There are over twenty clubs, both cultural and athletic. Through the club activities, we would like our students to get to know the joy of accomplishing something by themselves, develop a strong will to do their best and enjoy the satisfaction they can get as a result.
